Hopefully you found parts II and III in my potty training blog series. If not, please read through those. Part II specifically discusses options for containing your puppy when they are left alone and part III discusses tools and tricks that can help to improve the success rate of potty training. Good luck.

Comment on You too Can Potty Train Your Pooch (Part I - Nutrition)

Thank you for providing such a detailed and concise article! You should write a book or something. I really appreciate the advice!

Would you also have something on keeping the puppy when alone?

Thanks very much!

Comment on Thunder Terrifes Teddy!

Excellent advice! My normally unflappable German shepherd is reduced to whimpering and immediately heads under our bed at the first sign of thunder (sometimes when the storm is several miles away) and won't come out despite our best efforts. While amusing, I'll admit that I've done just what you've said not to do...wheedle, cajole and offer reassurance that the thunder isn't out to get him. We will try your technique of distracting him with treats or a toy.

Comment on You too Can Potty Train Your Pooch (Part I - Nutrition)

Makes perfect sense!
